New for 2016 Oil & Gas UK is delighted to welcome the newly formed Oil & Gas Technology Centre to Share Fair.

The Oil & Gas Technology Centre (OGTC), set up with funding by the UK and Scottish Government through the Aberdeen City Region Deal, aims to become the ‘go to’ centre for adapting, developing and deploying technology to help the UK North Sea extend its competitive life, and develop into a world class hub for Innovation and Technology in the Energy Industry, with a special focus on the offshore mature basin, subsea and decommissioning challenges.

Working through Solution Centres, local Centres of Excellence along with the development of a Technology and Innovation Network Hub and a Technology Supply Chain Accelerator centre, the OGTC is committed to not only maximising the economic recovery of the North Sea, but also enhancing exports by helping develop new technology in the supply chain, and retaining high value jobs.

Why should you attend?

Extending the useful life of ageing infrastructure and encouraging investment could make a significant contribution to maximising economic recovery from the United Kingdom Continental Shelf’s (UKCS) oil and gas reserves.

Visit the Innovation Hub where you can take part in an interactive sandpit session to delve into the challenges surrounding Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) and Vessel Inspection.

The sessions will address the challenges and explore the innovative solutions needed to overcome these challenges along with any perceived limitations and how these can be overcome. The session will culminate by identifying how advanced inspection technologies can enable the industry to identify integrity issues in a more timely and accurate manner, allowing difficult and hazardous locations to be accessed more cost effectively and how they can contribute to increased levels of safety and production.

The final session of both the morning and afternoon within the Innovation Hub will look at a case study on standardisation and simplification in action and is a direct output from Oil & Gas UK’s Efficiency Task Force.
